‘The Monster’ heads for Iranian home market

Mehran Modiri’s ‘The Monster’ to enter Iranian home market soon.

Award-winning actor and director of ‘The Man with a Thousand Faces’ Mehran Modiri’s latest project ‘The Monster’ is set to hit Iranian home markets in the near future.

Currently being filmed in a northern Tehran neighborhood, the crew aims to have the series ready by the Persian New Year in late March.

As the film is being shot, editing is also being done simultaneously with producer Mostafa Ahmadi noting that the crew is waiting to make a final decision in the upcoming days on the film’s distribution for the Persian New Year.

Written by Peyman Qasemkhani, the 15-part series is a comedic twist on the life of a couple living a healthy lifestyle until a man comes along causing them to change their life’s course and enter illicit work.

The project will be another collaboration between long-time writer/director duo Modiri and Qasemkhani.

According to the project’s décor manager, Peyman Qane’, “with close to 200 locations involved in the film the project used a wide variation of decorations which seemed as if all TV decorations can be summarized in this series.”

Casting for the series includes Farhad Aslani, Shabnam Moqaddami, Mehran Modiri, Shila Khodadad, Gohar Kheirandish, Sima Tirandaz, Mohammad Bahrani, Mohsen Qazi-Moradi, and Mir-Taher Mazloumi.
